Our attorneys are members of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and of the local New Hampshire chapter, the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NHACDL). These are the preeminent professional organizations for lawyers that defend people accused of crime in the United States. These organizations provide fantastic legal seminars to their members, teach others and learn from our colleagues at meetings and conferences, and support policy initiatives to improve the justice system and protect the rule of law.
Each year, the local chapters give their greatest award for lifetime achievement to one or a select few members, the Champion of Justice Award. Most criminal defense lawyers in NH and across the United States have never received this honor. Our lawyers have received this honor three times:
We are so grateful to our colleagues for this recognition.
We view these honors as cherished reminders that fighting for our clients and for the integrity of the justice system begins with doing our absolute best in any given case, but it means much more than that. It means supporting the justice system in other ways, including advocacy, public service, teaching and learning from our colleagues. Supporting and promoting the rule of law. Publicly advocating for stronger support of indigent defense, which is too often underfunded and undervalued. It means not only being a champion for a client, but a champion for the very cause of justice.
