Lothstein Guerriero, PLLC - launching on May 6, 2013!

I am thrilled to announce that as of May 3, 2013, at 5:00 p.m., Lothstein Law Office, PLLC is no more! Thrilled, because we are about to launch something bigger, and better.

One of New Hampshire's most skilled, experienced and respected criminal litigators, Richard Guerriero, will be joining me to form a new firm - the law partnership of Lothstein Guerriero, PLLC. Richard's office will be located in downtown Keene, New Hampshire.

Richard Guerriero brings to the table over 28 years of litigation experience, in state and federal court, at all levels, from trial courts to state supreme courts, to the United States Supreme Court. That's right, Richard Guerriero received national attention as one of New Hampshire's few attorneys to have argued a case in the United States Supreme Court. Perry v. New Hampshire, 132 N.H. 716 (2012).

For 12 years, Richard served as the Litigation Director of the New Hampshire Public Defender, providing and coordinating training and litigation support for 100+ public defenders and 50+ contract attorneys. Many of New Hampshire's finest criminal defense lawyers would proudly tell you that they were trained, guided and inspired by Richard Guerriero - not just by the trainings he presented- but by his example. Richard has defended some of New Hampshire's most high profile criminal defendants - including numerous homicide cases - and including two death penalty cases.

In 1984, Richard began his career at the Supreme Court of Louisiana, as Law Clerk to Justice James L. Dennis, who was since elevated to the U.S. Court of Appeal for the Fifth Circuit. After his clerkship, Richard opened his own firm in Louisiana, focusing on criminal and civil litigation.

In Louisiana, Richard's peers elected him to the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he co-chaired that group’s Continuing Legal Education Committee.

Richard carried this tradition forward, of teaching and service and dedication to excellence, when he came to New Hampshire in 1993 - he has served on the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Board of Directors for over a decade, on the Bar Association's Committee on Legal Education, and on the Ethics Committee.

Perhaps someone reading this will correct me, but I'm pretty sure that Richard is the only criminal defense lawyer in New Hampshire to be awarded the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer's coveted Champion of Justice Award in two separate States! (New Hampshire,2005; Louisiana, 1992).

Richard graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Louisiana State University in 1981, and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 1984, after publishing no less than three Notes and articles in the school's Law Review.

Richard will focus on complex civil and criminal litigation in State and Federal Court. He will handle all levels of criminal cases throughout the State, and even beyond, as practitioners throughout New England will want to work with Richard on high profile criminal cases. Richard will also bring his considerable experience and skills to bear on appeals and post-conviction litigation in State and federal court. He will defend misdemeanors and DWIs in southwestern New Hampshire - Cheshire, Sullivan and Hillsborough Counties.

I will continue to focus on DWI defense and criminal litigation throughout the State, particularly central New Hampshire, the Lakes Region and northern New Hampshire; appeals to the New Hampshire Supreme Court and First Circuit Court of Appeals, and federal criminal defense in the United States District Court, right across the street from our home office in Concord.

Together, we will litigate personal injury claims arising out of automobile accidents, since we both have handled so many cases involving the legal issues and expert witnesses that frequent these cases.

When we get a good jury trial, we'll try it together! - Ted Lothstein
