So in 2016 I was charged with simple assault after knowingly assaulting my daughters boyfriend on camera inside dunkin doughnuts.I did so because he had been assaulting her for a while and that day I got a call from a family friend who her as well as two others witnessed and made police statements saying they saw him assaulting her yet again behind dunkins.As any good parent would do I flew down there to defend her.I made no excuses for what I did and debated weather or not to even hire a lawyer ,after all I was caught on camera but ultimately decided to do so only because I know how unjust the justice system can be so I thought it was probably in my best interest despite the fact that I figured there was little to nothing a layer could do for me besides make sure I was treated reasonably fairly.Well long story short due to Teds determination,strategic planning and having no problem or reservations in stepping on the prosecutions and town police prosecutors toes he was able to plea it down to a violation accompanied with a fine I had to pay.What a victory in my eyes!I know two wrongs dont make a right and it could be debated if I did the right thing or not but at the end of the day I do realize despite my feelings of he deserved it I do realize it was illegal.Ted and his paralegal Melanie are both very interested and compassionate people who work very hard for there clients best interest.
