Ted Lothstein named 2024 Champion of Justice

We are very proud to announce that Ted Lothstein was named the 2024 Champion of Justice by the New Hampshire Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NHACDL)!

This is a very prestigious award that is given to only one lawyer every year by the NHACDL, which is the NH affiliate of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the preeminent organization of criminal defense lawyers in the United States.

There is no honor greater than peer recognition. And yes, there is a new, beautiful clock in our conference room....

In their press release, NHACDL stated:

2024 Champion of Justice, Ted Lothstein

For those of you that were unable to attend Friday’s CLE and our annual meeting, it is my pleasure to announce to you that our 2024 Champion of Justice Award was awarded to Ted Lothstein. NHACDL and other state affiliates of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers across the country award the Champion of Justice each year to just one lawyer in each State. The Award honors members who have demonstrated achievement in the practice of criminal defense and have provided outstanding service to the organization, their clients and/or our community.

[I]t is rare to have a successful career as either a criminal trial lawyer or appellate attorney in our fine, but small, state. Ted has somehow found the time to do both. He has won huge acquittals for clients at trial and has won more appeals than that vast majority of us have even noticed up. But the true hallmark of Ted’s practice has always been his genuine care for his clients, his deep knowledge of the law and his overwhelming support of his fellow members of the defense bar. I can’t think of a more deserving person.

Congratulations, Ted!

A storied tradition

Here's a picture from NHACDL's Annual Meeting, showing Ted receive the Award alongside his law partner Richard, his wife and soulmate of 25 years Penni Perri, his daughter Sophie, and Merci, who has become a member of our family ever since his family emigrated to America over a decade ago.

Other past recipients of this honor include some of the most storied lawyers in the modern history of this State, lawyers who mentored Ted when he started practicing criminal defense in NH 30 years ago, such as Cathy Green, Mark Sisti, Barbara Keshen, and… Richard Guerriero, Ted’s law partner, who received this honor in 2005. In fact, Richard may be the only lawyer in NH to have won this prestigious honor in two different States.
